what that guy said^ good bulls get used a lot because they're good.

or they get promoted a ton...

HW would have never sold a single straw of semen had he been cut like his intentions were-- or he had been purchased by someone else.  $1200 county fair steer was his targeted goal...  remember that!

Same with CF Trump! He was bought for a show steer but I heard Cates bought him back after they heard he was going to be cut!

how many of Lautners bulls have went unheard of after being promoted? the good ones rise to the top.

95% of them...

so are you saying that if Lautner's are out buying the most elite of the club calf genetics in the US-- and 95% of them fail-- does that mean 98% of all club calf producers-- failed, or are worthless as far as breeding pieces?

Here's how I look at it:  1/2 the cows will have heifer calves- half bull calves.  The heifer calves are worthless as far as show steer production is concerned.

So...  95% of 50%, plus 50%-- equals 98% calves that are unneeded.

With this logic- why does Launter even buy that many bulls-- if right off the bat- almost all of them are going to fail?  Not very good logic to my mind...  What incentive is there to even sell to them-- if your bull is just going to fail?  Why not keep  him and atleast use him in your own herd- or sell him as a steer-- atleast if he fails then-- the only person you have to blame is the judge.

all aboard full sib to monopoly th free calves are light from what ive heard and grow lots of hair later on towards weaning they rnt born with it but his calves are pretty good 25$ last time i checked

No.

Whats with the no? Whats wrong with All Aboard?

He's not a son.
He's not a replacement for Monopoly.
He's not nearly as good as Monopoly
never said he was a son i said "full sib"... never said he would replace him ... and he might not work on the same kind of cow monopoly does, and the very few people useing him probably dont have the "great" cows that raise the monopoly and heat wave champions

If you pay attention lautners know which ones are good to, how often do you see an add with 20 nice Maxim calves they mainly promote hw, monop, I-80, JJ, and a few th free bulls. They wouldn't have to worry about promoting so many if they didn't buy 40 a year but to ensure you get the best they buy them all

I've seen quite a few Park Place's, and they're just not as stout as Monopoly's.  Monopoly Money looks promising.

Man Among Boys was on my list this year.  Are there any calf pics?  I'm excited to see some and hear more reports.

That's b/c the crossed up clubby deal is a mixed bag of trash... and without the Angus in there-- they have zero predictability, or consistency...

Oh its fine with me, seeing as all we have are PB Angus cattle

The pics of calves I saw on Rodgers blog were nice but with the previous owner he didn't sell much semen so for the low number of calves quality seems to be high! We will really now around late February/ early march 2013

MAB calves look good.  Kinda thought he would throw a little more color than what I saw, but nice to say the least.

i think monopoly himself was more impressing as a mature bull to me.... he was really moderate but not to small to where he couldnt breed a cow naturaly like some heat waves... i attached a pic of an all aboard calf
