About 12 years ago we sold a bull into Texas and he was going to be collected at Ultimate Genetics at Wheelock, Tx. Does anybody know if it still operates as I would like to track down some semen if it still exists.

We had some semen stored there until recently.  Think it's been bought out a couple times...don't remember what it's called now.

The bull was Diamond Galactic 18G, one of thickest calves we ever raised. He was out of the OA Diamond Mona Maid 15X cow, she was also the dam of Diamond Amanda Maid 12A. The 15X cow was an ideal type female, moderate deep and always weaned a calf in the top 5%.

That's what it's like here all the different studs have closed or been bought up until Alta genetics is the only one around!

I am assuming Galactic is appendix free.  Was he solid red??  Sounds like a heck of a cow he was out of, I may be interested in some of the semen as well if you can find it.  I have my own shipper tank so if you need any assistance just let me know.

He was appendix free iin Canada but wouldn't be considered so in the US. His US # is 3983999. He was also a roan. Striking out here. His paternal grand dam was also another great producing cow OA Diamond Julie's Baroness 29Z which was in the herd until she was 16 at which point we flushed her for ourselves and James Playfair in Scotland. I would like to use him to bring 15X and 29Z back in on a couple of selected crosses.

Sounds like a great plan to me, considering the track record of his maternal side.  The fact that he is not appendix free or red tosses me out on him but I would still help you any way I can to get the semen to you.  It sucks that I have to worry about color so much instead of just focusing on breeding the best cattle I can but I just cannot market colored bulls in my area and have found a close correlation with appendix free cattle working the best in my environment.  Maybe its just coincidince but the harder doing ones at my house are the ones that carry an asterisk.
