Looking for some firewater semen with specific collection dates, comment what dates y'all have that you'd be willing to sell. Called major semen distributors and they didn't really sell it by collection date.
Thanks! DSC

I can't find any firewater semen that will make an embryo

I'm sure that's why Doreck is hunting a certain date

talked with Trans ova and they agree FW semen is trash, but they said they had the best luck with 4/8/13 and 1/16/14. Using it to IVF so i figured my chances are already slim to none i dont want to hurt them even more by using a lesser straw.

Are you guys serious?  I've got some sexed heifer that I paid a lot of money for, and if people are having trouble with the straight stuff I can imagine what problems I'll have with sexed.....

seriously?????
we plan on reverse sorting his semen there to get sexed female, the way i see it is ill be happy with one calf on the ground out of this whole flush... not saying id expect more than 2-3 using high quality semen.

I have a lot of bulls on the list of possibilities, tickle, Turton, holy water, bohannon, etc (maybe even some Mr All day or Proof from Sullivan) are a part of it, she's a heifer so I figured why not go big or go home to the most overused bull in the chat breed.  (lol) we will split the flush between FW And bohannon if we flush out enough eggs. We've got nothing but time to flush her (she's a CML Diablo 2X out of a Smart Money Cow btw)

We will have about 15 or so Recips present to put the eggs we flush in fresh, I hadn't seen his sister and dam until now and I can saw I'm impressed, if I use every drop luck I have left in this lifetime she will flush a bunch of eggs and I'll get 3 heifer calves from FW, Bohannon, and Distinction. I really liked the fact that Diablo had an outstanding calf from distinction which persuaded me to at least have a natural calf out of my Diablo. If that calf is anything like that agribition calf I can give you a guess as to who she will be flushed back to, just kinda testing the waters with the overused FW, outcross in bohannon, and calving ease chance with distinction, we will be flushing late this month early next month and I couldn't be more excited to say the least!

I'll chime in on this thread.  We are the breeders of Fire Power and depending on what your goals are with your heifer here is our assessment on Fire Power.
If you are wanting to make show heifers that make cows use him
If you are wanting to get real feed efficiency in your cattle use him
and he typically throws a great disposition on his progeny.

Thanks.  I can't find a pic at the moment but there is a steer in Arkansas sired by FP that's been doing a fair bit of winning.  The calves sired by him that have been in our barn spend most of their show life on a diet..  Just good doing cattle.  His first heifers are certainly doing their job for us.  Pretty udders and keeping their condition in Missouri on fescue.

This pic is the same pair that Crytalcreek posted just later in the year.
SHF Annie Oakley is a Perfect Wind daughter with a Fire Power calf at side.

FP is getting the job done by the looks of it, one plan I had in mind was attempting to breed more Canadian blood lines into my Diablo just to keep things Rollin, the Canadians are just a step ahead of us down here, then again their weather sure helps out a lot! And here she is btw, pictures taken at Fort Worth, she's an April.

She will get AIed to distinction as soon as possible after being flushed, I'd consider ivf while she's bred but the last thing I need is her to slip the calf so I'd rather be safe than sorry, and these calves would be for her senior year, most likely keep everything that results from flushing and natural calf

That's a BIG bull.  It could go really right, but, man that could go awfully wrong.  I hope your lovely daughter has many beautiful heifer calves to choose from for her senior year.  Good luck.

We used Ledger on my daughter's heifer for her first calf.  But my daughter isn't close to her senior year and we had more time, too.  My daughter is so attached that there's no way we could lose this heifer and we played it safe.
Call me ASAP thanks 409-392-8599
