I have a steer that wants to itch all the time.  I'm assuming he has dry skin because of the cold temperatures.  He itches some hair out but doesn't rub until he's bloody like I've seen from others.  Anything I should do for him?

If you are warm enough that you can rinse the calf I would do that and be sure to condition either with a leave in, a rinse out, or both.  Then brush and blow.  Do that as often as you can get that dead hair out and moisturize that hide and it will help.  Ours are doing the same thing.  If you haven't treated for parasites lately I would do so for sure.  We typically don't use a pour on our cattle in the Spring (we aren't quite Spring yet, but it's close).

I would use something for lice first.  Our calves have had the same symptoms
this time of year the 1st year we had a vet check them and it was lice so
now if they start losing hair and are itchy this time of year we treat for lice does the trick.
