So I've been reading about IVF and have read the statistics from Trans Ova . Now I would like to hear real numbers from people that have used the process and their success rates , complaints, and if they would do it again. Would also like to know what the cost is to have it done ? Thanks in advance

We flushed 2 cows earlier this summer via IVF. Flushed 94 follicles between the 2 cows. Reverse sorted semen on 2 different sires. Froze 14 sexed male put 4 additional in fresh, froze 9 female and put 3 additional in fresh. We were pleased with the numbers... Will be interesting to see conception on the frozen embryos. Our cost to have semen sorted plus flush work was $1200 per cow plus $55 per embryo froze.

I've been transferring IVF embryos (various breeds) for almost 5 years. I personally prefer frozen embryos versus the fresh because my conception rate has been so good. Using frozens allows me to calf certain matings throughout the year instead of all hitting at the same time from a fresh transfer. The lowest my frozen rate has been was around 50% and that was once or twice. Generally my conception rate is higher.  Recip maintenance is just as important as having good techs to transfer good embryos.  All my work is done with Trans Ova. They've done good work for me and I like the people. Not sure what other places charge but the last round I worked 3 donors using sexed semen and had around $70 in each embryo (transferred 10 fresh & froze remainder).  I put some frozens in a few weeks ago so waiting to preg check now.

It sucks. Ran about 30% on 60 fresh implants in my own recips. Transferred 20 into trans ova owned recips and ran 20%.

Did it this year on a heifer that wouldn't flush naturally.  We froze 5 on one mating and went 4 out of 5, 7 on another and went 2 out of 7, and 3 on another and went 1 out of 3. All are heifer pregnancies were frozen embryos and rate conception was 47% and they were in our very best recips with tremendous conception history of over 90% across their lifetime. We typically run 75-85% conception rates on 60-80 implants a year.  We will not be doing IVF again unless its a cow that just won't flush naturally or we feel the semen sorting technology has improved.
