jpj 30.. seen I-80... think you can only get it from Lautners... saw 1 auction in the 150 to 200 range I think.

If he was homo.....100% of his offspring are carriers. If he was dsc...only 50% would have been carriers. My point is I guess are all sons carriers? I used a home grown son a little.

I misread your question.  I mistook the h in dsh for an n, as in negative.  I believe people do know if he is dsc (as in carrier) or dsn (as in negative).  I don't know about dsc or dsh.  My eyesight must be getting bad.

The last Shorthorn country had a bunch of info printed in the one article.......it seems a little more complicated than the th deal.

The article claimed that cattle would not registered that were ds homo in the coming years. I assume it wouldn't be retroactively.

hopefully they will extend this standard to include thc and phc cattle.

It is a problem if a genetic defect carrier is of the homozygous condition. They will never have a defect free calf.......double trouble......twice as bad as say a th carrier. I wonder if there is a "look" to the dsc calves.......since it's tied to pha?
