JT President 5B (Kaper 4508)
« on: June 12, 2018, 01:53:46 PM »
Here is a home raised 4 year old son of Kaper 4508. He was a first calf for JT Clipper 8Z  and we have used him extensively on heifers. Very easy calving and has made attractive, hard working females. He has been a great heifer bull for us.

That breeding really works on Canadian cattle-you can see both. Hed be good on hard made hard doing lines of popular show breeding and especially good on ANY clubby cattle black .charx, double Visions etc. O0

Just from pictures, he looks to be longer spined and deeper in his quarter than Kaper 4508.
If it was easy, everyone would succeed.

To me he patterns a lot like his sire but I have only seen 4508 in pictures and sometimes the in person view can be different. His dam has become quite a good cow on the farm and actually just flushed a dozen grade 1 embryos last week to Stockman.

No he has never been export drawn. Being in Manitoba the closest export qualifying stud is 10+ hours away!

Thanks Gary, the amount of daughters we have keep makes it tricky to sort breeding pastures for the yearling females but imo thats a good problem to have.

Yes a good problem indeed. We have been stacking his sire in our pedigrees using great grandsons this year on his daughters, granddaughters, and great grandaughters and some of those are double bred.

I think lining him up through the pedigree would be pretty good. Are you double stacking with another bull in there as well? Who do you plan to inject for your future inline outcross vigour on the stacked 4508?

R.N. i might be interested in the bulls you raise in the future. I should have bought that Kaper son that sold at Marty's sale but I bought a different lot. Craig Hoyt Brewster Ks.

IMO the "JT" prefix could be the next big thing in the North American Shorthorn biz......

Since the start of our herd we have made it a practice to follow up a successful herd sire with homebred sons across the herd so naturally those former herd sires influence is being concentrated with the use of 4508  and his homebred   decendents since he was out of a homebred cow. I always have my eyes open for that next building block but I still think i have more room yet with the 4508 line.I have my eye on a calf born here this spring by Frontline(4508 son) and out of a 6 year old 4508 daughter who has qualified as a pacer performance dam.Her dam is 11 years old and still active and she received the pacer performance award last year.
