Just a quick update for anyone who is interested. We took our new shorthorn plus heifer out to Lima for the heart of it all and she was named reserve champion plus. In preparation for some other shows, we didnt take her to agr, but we did take our fall shorthorn and she was also named reserve champion. The plus is a SULL Blue Blood X SULL Breathless and made it to the final drive at North American. The shorthorn is SULL Perfect Pattern, Sonny X SULL Perfect Solution.

i thought the backdrop was green? she's nice.
The livestock (show) industry is a tough one- if you've never had anything worth a damn you might as well go on the internet and rundown everybody you can.

At some recent shows, we have been asked about the possibilty of selling interest on our heifers. This is a definate possibility in the future, and we thought we would just throw the idea out there and see if any of you shorthorn or club calf breeders would be interested. Atached are some recent photos of our shorthorn SULL Perfect Pattern, and our shorthon plus SULL Miss Blue Blooded (THC).

Perfect Pattern ( WHR SONNY X SULL Perfect Solution) was Grand Champion at the Eastern Regional Jr. Shorthorn Show, Reserve Grand Champion at the State Fair of WV alternating PACE Show, a division champion at KILE (open and jr.) Atlantic Major PACE Show, The Reserve Grand Shorthorn at the Ohio AGR, Grand Champion Shorthorn at the 2010 PA Beef Expo, and the Champion Shorthorn female at the Bedford Co Jackpot. She is due early December 2010 to Jakes proud jazz. She has seen the show ring 9 times, and was a crowd favorite at the 2009 NAILE.

Miss Blue Blooded (SULL Blue Blood X SULL Breathless) was the National April heifer calf champion at 2009 NAILE Open Show, the reserve Grand Champion Shorthorn plus at the 2009 heart of it all, and Champion Commercial and Third Overall Supreme at the South East Classic Jackpot. She has only been shown 4 times.

Let us know what you think, if you have any questions, or would be interested in purchasing embryos in the future. We feel as though their best days are still to come.

Tremendous lookin calves. The hard work has its rewards. Doesn't hurt to have solid genetics also, along with a good eye for functional cattle.I think there would be several reasonable options as far as breeding.i would definitely consider Ace of Diamonds.you would keep the style and have great genetics. For her second go round or future flush,Off Road might be a good idea.Of course a lot of folks will tell you Bloodstone, Gus,JPJ which would make marketable calves. Ace of Diamonds is not considerd calving ease, but the folks who bred him, friends that we know who uses him, along with ourselves have never had a problem using him on first calf heifers. For your Shorty Plus you also have a lot of options. Most would say Angus, sometimes myself included, being how she is bred I would suggest Total Solution[exceptional calving ease with very few throw aways] possibly his new [but unproven] promotional son,Jesse James. After seeing him and I-80, I'm going against past judgement and gamble a little on unproven bulls.....Good Luck, and congradulations.
Dare to dream big...and watch it become a reality!

TMJ, thank you so much for the response. The shorthorn is bred to Jakes Proud Jazz, and we plan on breeding the plus the same way, as we would like to show her as a pair and her calf would be regiestered 75%. As far as flushing goes, we love the idea of a sexed ace of diamonds flush, or bloostone on the shorthorn, and hairy bear seems to be the clubby consensus for the plus. We think that both of these females would be great in shorthorn operations, and because of thier structural integrity, hair,  and show ring sucess could excel going to the clubby side of things. The first flush on the shorthorn has already been sold, so if anyone is interested in purchasing interest in these heifers, please send us a pm. thanks.
