Not meaning to brag but our shorthorn heifer, SULL Perfect Pattern 85 ET, was recently named Reserve Grand Champion Female at the WV state fair open show. This was only her second show. Her first show was the Eastern regional Shorthorn Show, where she was named Grand Champion Overall Jr. Female, as well as being named calf champion in the open show. We are very pleased with her progress and are looking forward to her continued campaign in the east and elsewhere.  She is an Oct. 19, 2008 daughter of WHR Sonny and out of Sullivan's donor SULL Perfect Solution. Thank you to our friends, and fitters for all of your help.

Thanks DCC. Wed like to think so, she is very feminine and has great rib shape yet is still really powerful and square. And the best part is that she is getting better everyday. We are very excited about our future with her.

ok for our first trip to the state fair...2nd in class to the champion bull...a third and a fourth in class...and third in pair of bulls...

it was really nice and we had a lot of fun, despite the fact i ended up getting a real bad case of poison ivy, stepped into a hole carrying a bale of hay out of the trailer and spraining my ankle, and a trip to quick care, lol

Well I guess my WV State Fair experience was a little less exciting than yours, lol. It was our first time there too. I was really pretty impressed with everything. We only really went to test the waters for next year PACE show, but I think we will definately be back again.

Nice heifer congrats on your success. What kind of #s do they have @ the 2 shows that you have been to? The #s seem to be going down quickly here in the midwest. The Ia State fair market show I think had short of 300 head total when not too many years ago it was a 2 day event it can now be done in a half day. @ one time there were well over 1000 head competing for the championship. Sad that the #s have fallen so quickly. A lot of kids are missing a great experience IMO.

Im not exactly sure of the numbers, Id say between 80 and 100 at the regional and considerablly less at the state fair.  I would say that the numbers have fallen off around here too. Alot of people are obviously having financial troubles i suppose.
