“to procure the participation, cooperation, agreement or assistance” of one or more persons to willfully and maliciously injure another person in his or her reputation, trade, business or profession.

This shouldn't stop anyone from stating facts though or opinions based on facts.  This stops someone from purposely and without cause defaming another person or business.

I added a Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions page (at very bottom) to Steer Planet a while ago.  Basically, I won't release any of your info unless mandated by court order.  I can't stop someone from taking a screen shot of the page, however in the court of law, they still need to be able to prove through an ip address that it was posted by that individual.

However, you are solely responsible for what you post, if something is posted that could meet the criteria set forth in terms and conditions, I will remove it in a reasonable time.

The problem is most of the time people don't have opinions that they can back up with facts. They just spout opinions that could be deemed malicious of defaming, without the facts to back up their opinions.  Another words you can't just say whatever you want and use the internet as a protective shield.

Its a sign of the times, heck even national writers have stuck their foot in mouth by not checking sources.

We will do our best on here if contacted to take care of any problems, but you need to contact me so that I am aware of the problem.

You might also be interested to know that several individuals (that I know of) have received letters from state boards of veterinary practice to "cease and desist" practicing veterinary medicine without a license for advice on line that involved the use of prescription drugs and or was considered veterinary practice - brave world ....

Wow......being lectured on virtue by a steer jock. (clapping)

I'm going to assume your not talking about me.  Do to the fact you have never dealt with me outside of you running your mouth on this board.

Jason,  just so you know stuff like this is exactly why I as well as many others don't post on here.  We as grown ups resort to calling names and belittleing others that have different opinions.  I have better things to do than defend my reputation to a man who doesn't know me in the slightest.

wow aj, i guess your guest lecturing on shorthorn cattle will have less irony due to your explosive sales of genetics in great demand?

seems the less you have for sale, the grouchier you get.

What he said. ^^^^^^^^^^

Back in the state of the steer planet thread, someone, David I believe (DLD), noted that these forums run in several cycles. The cycle that wasn't mentioned was the one all the other boards have gone through. The one where they go good for a while and then die. Just like the other boards, if the cancer isn't cut out, and kept out, this one will die, too. What we have is a difference of opinion between us all on what is cancerous and what is not. When it is over it will be too late to do anything about it.

There are a bunch of us very sick and tired of the ones that - admittedly have no current or past involvement in showing cattle, no kids that currently or have showed, dont have any intention of it, and are generally just bitter old (pick your favorite adjective) - constantly bashing the whole program.  I really dont understand why it's tolerated.  The bad part is kids that read this trying to learn really have no way to tell who knows what they are talking about and who doesnt.  A lot of the benefit of the site is gone.  A LOT of the leaders in the industry are aware of the site but refuse to participate because of the Crap they would be subjected to.

I'm really surprised some of these folks havent sued some of these idiots for the fun of it whether they could actually win or not.

had a few old-timers told me that in 2008.

what's sad is that a site like this can help with history.

the common thread is that it's not worth the effort.  people know how to get a hold of them.

a couple prefer the phone or in person and only use the internet to essentially list themselves like the yellow pages.

I'm curious as to whether this site has more impressions today, or in gonewest's good ol days?

It's going to be extremely difficult to prosecute me...or whoever this is.  Get the point?

I'm all for showing cattle. I'm just anxiously awaiting the time when show cattle are evaluated on functional beef cattle characteristics.  Texas, with the slick shear shows, has it right - judge the animal on its own merit.
