Yes in the past few years they were picking the grand and reserve at the rodeo/concert in the evening.  This year they picked them right after the last division.  I liked that better, as all the exhibitors could see the selection without having to buy a ticket to the rodeo.  Not to mention that they didn't have to fit the steers a second time.

Does anyone know the breeding on Brock's class 6 steer?  This isn't the one that won, I am curious about his lighter steer.

Brock won with a solid black steer.  The one I am asking about was a gray/brown mottled baldy.  Very different color/pattern.

I think Mays had a full brother to their Char. cross steer that they won wisconsin State Fair with in 2008.  I think he was a Heat wave if I remember right.

If I remember correctly it was out of a full sister to the smoke steer he won kc with a few years ago and not a brother to the wisf steer.  It could have been a different steer too.

Great set of cattle. Some class ran 10 deep out of 12/13 per class. Congrats to all who participated. The cattle & kids were both great. <beer>

I know awhile ago there was a post about showtext.com, and I just have to say after this weekend at the Royal I love it! The sent me all of the breed champion winners, steer champions and even the results from the steer sale last night on the champions last night. It was awesome to start to get the results earlier in the week, before I got there, and then while I was at the Royal even if I was back in the barns or away from the showring I still knew what was going on. For only $20 a month, best thing ever.
