yes, because good businesspeople realize there is more NET profit , and long-term survivability in selling necessities than luxuries. i am sure there are other reasons, too, that Sullivan's are graaaaaaaaaduuuuuaaaaaaaalllllllllllyy changing their herd sire battery. (thumbsup)

I certainly can't and won't speak for Sullivans, but as a casual observer I would say that perhaps a primary reason some of their new herd bulls don't have any Trump in them would be that most all of their great donor cows do.  Trump crossed on Trump has served them, and numerous others, very well.  Many have tried to find the 'next Trump" with little success.  There are only a handfull, if that many, breeders that have the ability to succeed with what might be considered unique bloodlines (in their market).  Just look at the different bulls the leading breeders have tried over the past decade or so.  Most all of them have failed to produce what they and their customers wanted.  These people are going to produce what they can sell, what their customers want.  Right now, those are Trump descendants.  They still win the shows and if you're selling to those people, you better sell them what they can win with.  I would bet at least 75% of all the Shorthorns at Louisville last fall had Trump close up in their pedigree.  It doesn't matter whether anybody thinks that's good or bad, it's just the way it is.  That said, if anybody is going to get some new bloodlines to work in the show arena, I would guess that Sullivans will.  As usual, just my opinion.

Are the calves out of Paymaster coming easy?  I have a bred from the Maternal Legends Sale having one in a couple of days.
