If you go to the Kansas State Fair web site, the entry forms are under competition, they need to be signed by your extension agent and are due by July 15th.
The Grand Drive is the final drive for all of the market animals (beef, sheep and swine) held on Saturday evening, Midwest Ford dealers are a major sponsor of the event is where the Midwest came in.  After selection of the Grand and Reserve of each specie will be the Grand Gala, it is a dinner for the exhibitors, you will get a ticket for each market animal you enter, I think there is a place to order additional tickets on the entry form.  The new sheep and swine building will be ready by fair time,  they have made huge improvements in the State Fair the last few years and have really worked hard to make this a fantastic show, I hope you have a great time

Thank you so much Jill. I moved her post from the Upcoming Show section so it could be answered by someone like you.

No no no you DO NOT get a gala ticket for each market animal entered....only one per exhibitor that enters a market animal...must order others...its worth the money...damn good feed...

Loading out on Sunday is a JOKE but has improved the last three years...wish they would hand out tickets to trailers as they leave the east parking area and collect them at the gate to prevent cutters.  I have always tried to play by the rules but the ones who don't tick me off.  The guys on horseback try their best and are nice guys if you treat them right.

Things truly have improved since five years ago and can't wait to see the new barns...hope they built enough pig wash racks!!!  The cattle wash racks are awesome.

Been lurking on this site since last winter and was glad to see some old timers show up from other sites.

No, there is a specific amount set up for Grand and Reserve of each species, they are the only terminal market animals, the rest go home with the exhibitor.
I stand corrected on the gala tickets, it's been a while since we actually exhibited and they have changed that, each exhibitor gets 1 gala and 4 gate tickets.

Oh gate tickets now here is a good one....for years they never took gate tickets before 6 or 6:30 am (we show Angus..always first up)...we would wave at the the guard and they always waved us on in...UNTIL last year....5:30 am we are driving through and she stops us..."Where's your tickets"  "UH....I don't know because we have never had to have them before 6."...."Well ya got to have 'em today."
Luckily I had a couple stuffed in the console but the rest were back at the room.

Best be having a them on me this year!

Good luck to all....
