nice cow kane 1598. nice shoulder, tied in tight, angled, smooth, especially on top and not loosely hung like some maine's. nice set to her pasterns and rear end.

I gues it goes back to judging a ...bull show using "Breed Character" as a major goal. What does all this color deal say about "black hided cattle"? I think it means that cattle can be black ........with very little Angus. Don't know if it's right or wrong but it is a fact.

Every once in awhile you'll get a calf from two registered Hereford parents that won't classify Hereford. Two years ago, we had a calf out of a real conservative marked registered Hereford cow and out of a good marked composite Hereford bull that came out completely painted up, spotted with a little roan thrown in here and there for good measure...

I've seen some pretty well marked "Herefords" out of two black parents, too. Prob'ly goes back to the same thing AJ says, black doesn't neccesarily mean Angus, but that's a perception that a large percentage of the public has, and certainly one that the Angus promoters take advantage of.

Thank you, shes pretty cool. Our cow has a lot more bone and foot and some more power and all the HAIR you could ever think to put on one, but her momma is complete, attractive with all the goods, a very great female in her own right.
