Has anyone ever used the bull of Lautner's they call Meyer's Cowpower?  He is on the back cover of their fall 2009 catalog.  Thinking about crossing him with some Angus cows to produce some replacement females.  Any thoughts??

I think you should consider "Backlash"  He is a Meyer X Cunia, and a full brother to Whiplash.  He will give you a 25% Simme influence and a 25% Maine influence.  These genetics are proven to work on Angus cows, but even more so the next generation A.I.'d to Club Calf bulls is a homerun.

there is another thread I just did about Backlash in the classified ads.  I spoke to chris Bueler about him and I think that Backlash is going to be the bull of choice for females now that meyer semen is so high...whiplash, his brother, had females that did a huge job in the industry...i am going to use backlash myself.  his regular semen is only $20 per unit...a bargain....imo

If  he comes close to being the breeder his brother has been, it will be worth trying. Not all brothers breed the same.

I am not at all sure, but I believe that this Cowpower bull is the bul Lautner purchased from Larry Anderson. I believe that Larry leased the bull out for a couple of years, and that he sired some excellent females. If this is him, Larry would sure give it to you straight. Call him.
