If you are serious about showing at a level higher than a county fair, it's a must.

so how fine do you cut the twine?  1/2 inch?, inch????

As fine as you can. It takes a lot of twine to do it the old fashioned way.  I always use the hemp-ish twine rather than the plastic-ish stuff.  The leg builder from sullivan's works well.

One of the most "creative" leg builders I have seen used would be Silly String.

Believe it or not, it didn't  look as goofy as I thought it was going to!
