Life will be good when Tim Hortons come south. I guess the odd Twinkie for now will have to do.

I could send you some Timmie's coffee. They sell lots to visitors passing through on vacation.  A general warning though.. it can grow hair on your chest!

I don't do coffee, no matter the brand. Just the donuts. I stop in Lethbridge on the way home every time for my first fix of the trip. I would stop sooner if there was one closer to the border. There is now 2 in my home town, and I make sure I don't discriminate and go to both.

Interesting footnote, one of the four factories they reopened was in my town, Emporia KS.  However they still do not create the # of jobs that were present before hostess closed down.  I think they had around 400 to 500 jobs and employ around 200 people now.

I can literally smell them from the factory when they are making twinkies.

I'm like you Frostback, I don't do coffee either, fact is I've never even tasted it. But I have enjoyed Tim Hortons' donuts when I've gone up to Newfoundland the past two years. The other thing I remember about Tim Hortons is sitting in the drive thru line and looking in the rearview mirror and seeing two snowmobiles in line behind me. As a southerner, that was a definite new experience for me.

Even though its not on the breakfast of champions, nothing like a TWinkie to kill those hunger urges. When I am on the road I do no know how many times I have grabbed a twinkie and that equals breakfast with an extra strong cup of Starbucks coffee to round it off. I had to ditch the extra shot of expresso because of blood pressure. So  glad twinkies are back.  (clapping)

Where is the Hostess factory in Emporia?  We always stop in Emporia on our way to the WHR sale and would love to fill up our trailer, or at least the back seat, with some cupcakes.  Never been a big fan of Twinkies, but those chocolate cupcakes sure go well with a Coke.  The sugar keeps me awake through southern Kansas, too.  They surely have an outlet store.  Thanks for the help.

maybe they didn't need them before and that was the reason they shut down.  unions are notorious at stopping labor saving devices and improvements while retaining outdated wages for diminishing skilled tasks.  governments encourage entrenchment of unions while also constantly updating regulations and code while ripping off taxpayers, especially older people on fixed incomes.  there is really no utility for a union any more.

Do they taste any different? I enjoy the baked products of their Parent Company ( Bimbo Bakeries), which are marketed in Hispanic Grocery Stores.
