Last night I got frustrated while trying to work on 3 black calves in our show barn because I kept halving to battle the shadows in there. What do you all have for lighting in your barn areas, and what would you change about it? I have a 30x60 show barn that currently only has 2 jar lights that are about 30 feet apart, welcome to Shadow City!

The best lighting is flourescent lighting and the best way to do it in a clipping room is floor to ceiling and on all the walls. Jills clipping room is lined floor to ceiling and is the easiest to clip in of all the clipping rooms I haved worked in.

We built a trimming room and painted the walls and floor white. We have flourescent lights above the chute and angled on the sides. Its great for black cattle a little harder on white ones of course. But well worth it!
