Wonderingif this was a big deal-
We have two Milkman heifers, One outta a angus the other with chi influence.  The Angus x Milkman will be flushed to I-80, but were stuck on the chubbier chi influenced. We will use her to make chubbier market heifers and steers, while the angus will be used for replacement/ breeding heifers.  Would it be a huge deal to use a Boardwalk or Walks Alone on the Chi? (Assuming it wont rip her apart!)
If you think it's not the best idea what are some other CE options?  Thinking Rocky Balboa, Jesse James, or Dirty Hairy 2.

Also- Whats the effects of TH on TH breeding?  I've heard it's not good...  Are they both guaranteed to be TH with Milkman?

Lots of questions- Ryan

What would you be linebreeding around?  I don't think that there is any milkman, in either WA or BW...  maybe I'm wrong though...

TH ontop of TH... Just simply means, statistically, 1/4 of your calf crop will be born dead-- not a huge deal though, to the average clubby type person.

Are they guarenteed to be TH carriers, no just 50% chance of it.  But more than likely if they're both stout, hairy, and good, the odds go up to about 90%.

and btw: Linebreeding is the best thing since sliced bread, spread butter, or canned cheese...  It's the truly, only way to long term, widespread success..

Line breeding Heat Wave.
Milkman- Heat Wave Sire
Walks Alone- Heat Wave Sire
Boardwalk- Monopoly sire- Heat Wave Son

I have not line-bred Heat Wave genetics.

If you haven't tested Females you have chance they are carriers. 1 in 4 calves will be dead from this mating.on first mating. But you could also have all dead calves if you flush and they end up being all TH calves. You could also get a chance of being free. I guess when I think of flushing and the cost associated with it I wouldn't take a chance. I would test the females. It is cheap fast and easy if you use the companies that offer the hair sampling. From an accuracy standpoint I have not heard that hair is not any less accurate than blood. The punnet is tells you your chances on a cross. But you could be the lucky one that has all four TH calves in the square.

I hadn't thought it that far back, or like that.. I knew the WA/ BW connection being HW, but didn't put it with Milkman, b/c he's a smoke.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.. it's happening all the time.. Would it be any different than lining up WMW, of HS?  Seems to me like you chances of it working are the same... like peas in a pod.

If you do choose to do a calving ease sire, I would stay away from rocky balboa.  I have seen a lot of train wrecks out of him.

If the calf turns out good it's line-bred, if it turns out horrible it's in-bred  (lol)
