I would have to second "Pancho and Lefty" or The Highway Men for country. Tom Petty, John Cougar Mellencamp are in the same class but' I wouldn't put Bryan Adams in there. I love watching Forrest Gump dancing to "Sweet Home Alabama".

You mentioned Bob Seger and the movie Forest Gump, I love that song, "Against The Wind" by Seger.  Great song that brings back great memories for me Big Tex!

I found this yesterday on you-tube and thought it was really good. This is by Martin Sexton a very prolific singer/song writer. It is neither rock or country though.

What about the beatles?
Also the Traveling Wilburys are straight out awesome. They were a band in 1988-89. Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lyne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty!

Weird thing is my kids are listening to the same music I liked back in the day. (Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Kiss, Rush, Van Halen). Now they can't handle my Big & Rich!

Gidget...."tell me Hank, why do you drink? Why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs that you wrote?!"

Although I am not a fan of the Beastie Boys, I will admit that I am also an 80's child.

I remember listening to Duran Duran, The Go-Go's, and Rick Springfield while breaking calves when I was a teenager back in the 80's........lol!

Sweet Home Alabama, More Than A Feeling for Rock
For country, we have listened to this song since it came out, and it never gets old. Country By The Grace Of God: Chris Cagle.
