i don't know anything about this world series other than my dad got invited to be one of 15 umpires worldwide.  he's pretty up there in age and gets to travel around the world being a rules guy and safety officer.  he's been doing it since i was in little league years ago.  don't know if he's going to make it to the championship game or not.  things sure have changed since i was a kid, the coaching and game play is a lot better and the umps have to be more on their toes.

anyone got any daughters that participated?

Well I'll be a proud dad, my daughters team won the NSA 16U B world series this year.  She pitched every game of the tournament, including 5 games in 3 days.  You are right the game is way different, girls and coaches are very committied at a much younger age.

that is awesome knabe, I come from an area that had a lot of fastpitch mens softball around 15 years ago.  I love fastpitch, I played baseball loved it, but felt the game was slow.  To this day I would rather watch an 8th grade girls fastpitch game over a boys senior baseball game.

Have a brother in law who played in the little league baseball world series and said it was the best time of his life. His parents have some home video of some of the games, and you can just see how scared and nervous they all were.
