I figured out about a month ago that she was bred.  We had sold our male around a year ago.  We didn't think he could get the job done.  We were wrong.  Baby looks just like his daddy.  Thinking about naming him Jake.  His momma is Janet, Daddy and Jerry and "uncle" is Jack.  Jack and Jake may be too close though.  ???

Anyways, just thought I would share  :)

Love the ears. I am a long time donkey man. What can you tell me about his mother? She looks to have some good breeding. Surprise <party>, donkeys have bloodlines too.

not a donkey but our barn cat had her kittens this morning. Not sure how many but do know there is a yellow one & a black & white one. She was smart & had them behind the hay bales in a little crawl space. Now to keep the blue heeler & woody away from them!

I have no idea on any of their breeding  ;D  Momma"Janet" is a mammoth cicilian (sp?) and she is also a twin.    Daddy "Jerry" is a rescue.  My old hoof trimer called us one sunday morning and said he wanted the donkey gone and he didn't care what we did with him (hubby works at the salebarn) I guess the doneky tried to kill his horse  ???  Not sure how that happened the donkey weighed maybe 250 lbs.  We went and got him and he was really sweet. So we kept him until a lady called me looking for a donkey to put out with her sheep.  That is all I know about them.  They break calves, have been to church for plays, and just entertain us  :)

He may be cute but he is a flighty little sucker.  I can't hardly get close to him.  Luckly momma is pretty quiet.  He will come around I hope.  I bet he only weighs 40 lbs too.
