With the price of feed right now I am searching for a good commodity feed ration to feed to show heifers.  I was wondering if anyone out there had something that worked?

I don't know where you are located, but I believe you should get in touch with New Balance  Commodities in Nodaway, Iowa. I can get you a phone number. They provide an excellent product for feeding cattle of all classes.

I have been using a commodity ration consisting of 50 percent corn gluten meal and 50 percent soyhull pellets as a creep ration fed full choice and my calves--heifers included--are doing very well on it.  The also have access to hay and a mineral supplement.  I plan to feed this to them after weaning and maybe add a little flaked corn.
