Looking for a Clubby Bull that will increase frame size and create great fronts

What about Habeger's Texas Hold'em?

Lifeline might really work cause he has to have a cow with a lot of guts cause he don't have any or that is my experience , won't use him on Charolais any more just don't work for me, but I did have a Lifeline heifer out of of Fullback-Bando cow that won quite a bit in Ne. an the people love her for a cow .

Does anyone have any experiences with the bull Smooth Sailing, and his calves, that they would share?

western union is a maine. he sired the american idol bull and he appears to have some grow and a nicer front. western union is out of pebbles too and i know her pedigree doesn't have any dinks in it. just throwing that out there.

FYI - Western Union is a PHA carrier - it comes from Draft Pick thru the Pebbles (Pick Me) cow

Our Impacts never got very big, we used him before we got into the Ohlde breeding and he actually downsized the purebred cows we had originally bought from Harding cattle, in MI.

I've always had good luck with hannibal myself.

I am being told that HIRED MAN would make a good choice.  He is a Hannibal son out of Dan Sullivan's 102 Double Stuff cow.  I read in an earlier post that he is a 3/4 brother to Blue Blood and Manchild.  I have heard that they are doing a pretty good job.  His only negative I can find is he is big shouldered and my cows are good shouldered.  Otherwise, he has alot going for him.  Big butted and big topped, largre boned, square hipped, very hairy,  great front,  THF & PHAF, and he is a blady.

Might try him also.

The two that I have out of hired Hand look very interesting an I will sure use more .............

I"m a little late getting to this topic, BUT, also sounds like HANNIBAL to me.  To clear up the semen cost question that someone had......after he died I was only going to let 4000 units more go before a price increase.....BUT....I decided to NOT raise his price, and there's still plenty left.  

I would've also suggested Get It Done.....I didn't like the sound of some structure problems in the post above.....how were those cows bred?  I do know he can produce a JACK ASS if you give him the chance with a bigger framed cow, BUT.....generally they're really SOUND, huge boned and footed.  He works great on little TH carriers like Heat Waves, Heat Seekers, and anything Double Stuffy.  The  Silver heifer I used in the Get It Done ad was out of a Major Impact/Gray SmAN cow.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this post.  It has been awesome!  It gave me much to think about and decide on.  I have also been talking to some other clubby cattle breeders at the same time.  You folks have given me many good bull choices to work with.  Finally, we all have to choose our herd sires based on whatever criteria you value most, and what sires you have heard the most positive comments about.

I ordered my semen and decided to try "Hired Man".  My experience with Hannibal was that his calves just were not stout enough for me.  I will also use some Sunseeker, and I do have a little Foreplay left in the tank that I might try.

I've seen a few pretty nice hired mans this spring.  I'm really starting to like that bull.

Foreplay should give you some nice replacements.  Heat wave works pretty good on foreplay females.

Sunseeker throws some good calves.  The three rules with sunseeker:

Use him on smaller framed cows.-they can get too big and not get fat enough otherwise

Use him on the good fronted ones-he can throw them a little leathery if ya don't watch it

Use him on sound cows-they can get too straight, toe out too much otherwise.

Other than that sunseeker calves seem to be pretty good doing and the ones that aren't club calves should sell right with your other feeder calves.

Definitely not if you are wanting to increase frame size. He will make them pretty and have plenty of muscle though.

Depends on the cow - my Witch Doctors have more or equal frame as the cow - that is actually a pretty decent choice as WD is one of the only true bovine triathletes in the breed - good females, good show cattle and bulls to boot. Money Man may be another triathlete - but he doesn't clean up fronts like either WD or Impact does....

A bull who is a Tri-Athelete...I like that!

Also, I have decided to use Northern Improvement on the smaller framed hiefers.

Two Lifeline/Charolais have won Houston.  They have great disposition, travel well, are thick, great bone, and look better in the end than in the beginning.  Also, they are good eaters.
