I would say 15,000 for one quarenteed pregnancy is way to risky especially if something would happen to that calf.  Would have to be a  hell of a calf and some good marketing just to breakeven on that deal.

Thats really what the whole cattle business is, a risk. Its just how big of one u take that can set you back or put you ahead.

here is my thinking. obviously whoever bought those full sib eggs to walks alone has that much money to do so. if an average guy were to make that investment then that isn't smart.  they guarantee a pregnancy not a live calf or it being healthy or what if its born th carrier and crippled. too many risks for an average joe. but if you have the money you are able to take the chance and yes it could turn into a great money maker, but there are still to many things that could go wrong.

Back to the video - Lot 8

Great depth - yes
Great volume - yes
Great frontal extension - yes

But, just too wide and too short for me to call her a breeding heifer.  I think her Steaks will be better than her Calves.
