I have an Angus bred heifer due to calve any day to Grizzly.  I am already thinking about what to breed her back with.  If I am looking for replacement females to build my herd, which way do I go?  Maine or Simmi?  I would like to use these maine-angus or simmi-angus females to breed back clubby down the road.  Does it depend on the cow?  She is a small framed angus heifer that is very stylish, deep and correct in her structure.  I would like to thicken her up a bit to change her.  Couple bulls I have been thinking about:  Sooner, Wisdom, Built Right, Macho and Fat Butt.

Since I have mentioned Wisdom, what are everyone's thoughts on this bull?  How does he change females?

I would go simxangus route personally. The Sim breed will add bone and power to your correct and stylish angus heifer. I really like the Fat Butt bull, not familiar with wisdom.

Go to the Illinois beef Expo Maine sale catalog. There will be some real nice Wisdom sired cattle to get a look @. He is doing a good job as far as I can see and have been hearing.

I believe Buck missed using Wisdom one season but went back with him this last year. Wisdom seems to be doing a good job producing show heifers. Time will tell if they make good cows.
