How many bulls in the past have supposedy been the greatest thing to have ever been on the ground and then some "injury" makes semen scarce and "valuable"?

Grand dad would say something not so very nice and it would probably be just about on target, there is something haywire and semen is not the problem.  A genetic hickey, or like so many of these clubby bulls,  the offspring ain't worth hauling to town and if they are it's kinda like selling 1/2 blood longhorns,  you sell them before anyone can tell what they are.

I've got one, not bad but far from great and being out of a so so cow may have saved him. I'm thinking this ain't nothing but a promotional scam.

Had a couple born this Fall out of cows who have had really nice calves in previous years. Not at all what I expected! I posted a thread on here and only received one reply. I also sought feedback from other sources with no response. I wasn't and am not trying to bash the bull I just wanted to hear what others thought of their MAB calves. I know there were a lot of cows bred to him.

They are damn sure better as calves than as fats. I think it's safe to say that the MAB calves get significantly quicker in their hip and plainer fronted with age as compared to their contemporaries. I'm out on the bull (and I sold a smokin good calf out of him) because they just don't get it done as they mature and I don't see them slicking well at all for the southern market

Attached is the calf we sold and he actually lived at my house on our program so I speak from experience

The calves you have posted are similar in type to our calves. Other than having big middles and ribs you would like to change both their front and rear 1/3. As for sale barn cows, I have been raising show calves for 20+ years and judge a hand full of shows every year. I do know what a good one looks like! Just because they are stout and fuzzy does'nt make them good.

I really don't expect every one to be a 10,000 calf, but I would expect them to be at least competitive in a 3 head goat roping.  At this point I'm not real sure.

Its a good chance that he is dead or its a rumor that he is dead. either way the semen will be high or even no longer to buy and a year or so down the road out of nowhere a couple hundred units of semen with come out of nowhere and sell really high.
