Here is a pasture pic of my son's March 2010 heifer out of Hannibal and a Lauterbach cow.

She was bred on first service to Jake's Proud Jazz for a March 3 calf.

She weighed 1156 last week.

Thoughts and opinions?

Thanks-

Extremely cool heifer! I bet that first calf will be a knockout.

She looks like she might be a little straight in the shoulder, but it could just be the angle the picture was taken. It's kinda hard to tell. Other than that though, I like her.

Yes, she is a little straight on the front, good catch!
She is also a bit tall for some guys being about a 5.5 or 6 frame.
I'm happy with her and look forward to her March baby.

She is a bit tall, and like almost everything, could use more depth. I bet Jazz will throw a tremendous calf out of her! She looks like she will turn out to be a good cow! (thumbsup)

When looking at this pic how can you tell that she is straight in her front end? What do you look for?

B is the point of the shoulder. I always look from A to B, and from B to C(Top of the shoulder). In this case I would like to see C pulled a little farther back, and A if you want to get really picky with her.

Depending on what the JPJ calf looks like, (already sold if I want to let it go), I am considering flushing her to Eye Candy or possibly Indian Outlaw for some colored-up calves.

Think I could sell some embryos next spring?

What else would you breed her to to reduce frame a bit and make some show sreers?

She looks awesome! I think Monopoly would work great on her.
I dont mean to steal the thread but i have several hannibals that are very similar to yours.  One is a Fall 2010 that we are getting ready to breed and another that is cut from almost the same mold is a Hannibal x Angus that is bred for a Built right next feb.  Both are for sale.
