My daughter has an awesome market heifer but she is a little short strides. I feel it is because she is so muscle bound but she also just had hairy wart cleaned up. Also MN winter was not nice so they did not get much walking in and were on cement all winter until about 3 weeks ago. Do you think she will come around or is there something we should do. Just for your info she is a Monopoly x Friction so you can about imagine the muscle.

Letting her out for good exercise in a grass run will help, however, short stride in usually genetics and structure and you won't fix it completely.  Some judges overlook it if they are a strong enough market animal.

Probably a little of both, but having been off the concrete only a short time, I bet she will get better. When leading her, watch closely at what pace is best, and make her always walk at that pace, only.

I would consider having a certified animal chiropractor come out and take a look.  You will be amazed at how she will free up after an adjustment.

Thanks for everyone's comments. She has gotten far better in the last few days and is moving much better. I had my husband watch me walk her at a little faster pace and he said he thought she was moving awesome. So hope all is well.
