We had triplets two years ago.  We did sync the cow and then AI'd.  Lost one the first night, 1 4 months later, and sold the last one.

A few years ago we had a delayed set of twins. The cow lost her first calf then a few months later when we were cycling her to put in an embryo she was the only one who didn't come into heat. We kicked her out into the pasture and a week later she had the second calf that was amazingly OK.
There are three kinds of people in life: those who can count and those who can't.

Shorthorns had twinning even before any Maine influence.  Dad sold twin bulls at the Chicago International in the 50's.

Free martins are supposed to dress out better, so they make great freezer beef.

Beef cows do not always get enough nutrition to breed back on time after twinning.

Cows are smart, but twins can mess with their thinking.  Cow can forget about first twin when she has the second; then cowboy has to try to graft twin #1 back on its own dam.
