Matt Lautner question

Is Phil, Matt's dad or uncle? 

Also, I was under the impression that most of bulls Matt represents, he is majority owner but when I was looking at bull pedigrees the other day, I noticed that he owns many of those bulls with Phil or is part minority owner in many others.  Phil and Matt seem to operate their websites as if they are two separate entities but ownership records indicate otherwise.

Just trying to clear up some confusion on my end.

Phil is Matt's dad.  Dax, Chase and Matt are brothers.  Yes they are two different operations and own many bulls together. 

I've not had any personal dealings w/Phil.  I've been to Matt's a few times looking at cattle.  He and his crew have always been open and honest about there sale cattle and willing to anwer any questions we had.

That's one of the pages I saw that led to my original post.  Came off as dad trying to put his son in place.

Hope that is not the case.

I thought many of those bulls were Matt's alone based on things I have read on his site.

I don't think there is much love lost between Phil and Matt. Sad but true.

Also, what's the difference between "Phil Lautner" and "Lautner Farms"?

Do they not get along b/c Matt is more aggressive in his marketing? Matt's promotional skills rank up there with Don King and the Ringling Brothers.

Matt Lautner is Matt Lautner Cattle.
Matt is great about tweeting, retweeting and liking other tweets.
Lautner Farms is very good about posting pictures on their blog and sharing pictures on their Facebook page.
I've used Jesse James on a couple first calf heifers and recently bought some more of him.
I'm also very interested in Matt's bull Clean Machine as he's Jesse James x Walks Alone x Impulse and double clean.  Oh and 12.8% Chi. 
Now I'm rambling...

I can't say much as to dealing with Matt in person. But via phone and Facebook the guy was plain rude! You can't go around bitting the hand that feeds you and expect to do what he does every year.

By the way, I did not start this thread with the intention of it turning into trashing of an individual.

Just trying to figure out who owns what percentage of what?

I disagree I asked matt if he knew of a steer mid way threw as ours was injured an wasn't going to come back from it. He posted that search on his blog and within two days we had a replacement for a vary hard working and sad 11 yr old girl who was able to atleast attend a couple local shows . He checked up with me a week later with more options as he asked around for us. He made no money on that deal, he sounded happy that he could help a kid.  I had bought semen off his bulls, never threw him so it's not like I was some important past customer. Just my opinion, but I think hes an easy person to talk to.

Didn't post to trash talk anyone, just posted as to my experence with him. If you question it your more than welcome to PM me, it may have been a one off deal or something like that the first time but it's happened more than once.

What you are referencing means Phil Lautner is Lautner Farms.  Not Phil Lautner and Lautner Farms.

Both have always been nice individuals to talk with.

For clarification it is Chance not Chase.

  Also Dax is Matt's 1st cousin therefore a Nephew of Phil's.

WHY DOES THAT KEEP GETTING QUOTED WHEN SOMEONE HAS SOMETHING TO SAY?
I know that I did not say anything negative about either one.  I was just clarifying a few things that JiveTurkey had asked about.  And again, if you have questions, look at the BANNERS on the page.  Lautner:Matt Lautner Cattle and Lautner Farms, Phil Lautner.

I understand why some of these big cattle distributors tend to act like an ass
If you think about it they are all busy men
They can cater to everyone's little cattle needs just because they have connections
I would get a little pissed with people if they constantly call wanting help with this or that
I don't care how much of an ass people act if they have a cow/calf/bull that will improve our herd I'm going to put up with that individual

Not me, too many good options out there! I had a negative experience about 4 years ago that caused me to make a change. I have no regrets and have been very happy with the"relationship" I have with my current semen provider. He always has time for me.
