I would like to find a couple of mini herf females.  They are such cute little bastards, I think it would be a fun project for me and my son.  Any idea where a person finds a couple.

they are good for the small farm owner who has a small amount of land, they are also easy to sell halfs on since they dont dress out as much, and is easy for the normal size family to eat in a year. Thats just my thoughts, I dont own any but I think as time passes, they are going to get really popular...

Little herfs are cute but also a great project for kids, the meat industry and the smaller acreage places. The little thing seems like no flash in the pan thing either. We jumped into the Lowline thing some time ago and love it. Some folks that visit here can't pick out the half bloods from the regular cows. We can for the ease of calving and vigor those babbies have. Nice udders and good mommas. NOW, KP Herefords in Nebraska are selling down and have what are the best there is. Great folks too! Give them a call.

I hear through the grapevine that some folks in TX are now flushing mini herfs to herf appearing club calf bulls to make those little stout herf appearing steers - only flushing of course as they could not be expected to have one naturally - the females have the right kind of compact pattern for the female side to make those cute little ones that will show at approaching 2 years of age - another use for the hobby breed -
