Please keep in mind that Money Man is a Maine bull, he is not an angus or lowline. We got calves from him last year from angus and Maine angus cross heifers. We pulled or c-sectioned nearly all of them. We liked the calves that we saved, and have used him again on cows only. I must agree with DL, when it comes to maine and clubby crossed heifers, the safe bet is to use easy calving angus bulls. I have been involved with maines for many years, and I don't believe they are a breed for heifers. JMO, do what you think is best.

Right now, I feel he's my main bull I'll use on heifers.  I've had 15 calves out of him in 2 years and never had anything over 84 pounds.  My heard bull is also a Money Man and his heaviest has been 80 pounds (at our farm and at Major's).  Like the calving ease post said earlier...many things should be considered such as the cows breeding, cow condition, ect.  No bull is full proof, but in my opinion he's as close as I've gotten.  Another thing to consider in my situation is I'm not raising club calves.  My herd is geared toward maternal calving ease so my cows and heifers helped out on the calving ease.

Majors use MM on their heifers with very low BW - I have seen their calving records and for a Maine bull he is as close as it gets to a good heifer bull - I don't have clubby cows, they are purebred Maines heavy on maternal traits - but I still am going to use RED Angus high accuracy BW and CE bulls on my heifers - I have become real fond of 60 to 70 pound babies that gain 3 lb per day ;)

Gidget/Cathy, I love your calves out of Money Man. Like Olsun, we too did not have good luck using Money Man on heifers that are not all that clubbie bred believe it or not. lost half. Won't use him on heifers again, but appreiate his place in the breed. Brent

Got my Money Man calf yesterday out of our Vegas cow.    She had it easily--82#--and he looks like he'll be a pretty good little rip.    Only MM calf I'll have this year.  Some friends of ours told me they have had several big MM calves this year and were quite disappointed.  I've only had two MM calves in two years but both were born easily and were quality calves.
