He weighed 87 pounds. We think he could be kinda right come spring. He is the funniest little calf I have ever been around. He like to be scratched. He will come up and rub on your leg like a cat. His mother was Ryan first show heifer who won her class at the Junior nationals in 2012.

Where does the white come in at?? I saw your bull in Denver and am going to use him this next spring.

To quote Forrest Gump "life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you will get" and it is kinda that way with Shorthorns. Mr colt must be a genetic roan. I think you will like his calves. We will have 4 this fall then 18 next spring. If they are as good as that white one we will have a lot of fun the next few years. As I said in the above post I have never seen a calf like this one that likes to be scratched. He makes me a little nervous about how I will feel when he runs over to be scratched when he weighs a 1000 pounds or so.

He's definitely roan, you can see that in the flesh. Last few years I've only had about 5% white calves. The color isn't my favorite but without fail the whites have ended up being at the very top comes weaning. There's gotta be something to it. Have you noticed anything like this? The calf looks good, hope you continue to be pleased with the rest of his calves

We will definitely being using him on heifers next year. Will be looking forward to how your calf turns out. We had 3 white ones this year---never know how they will come, LOL!!

I am thinking of using him on this hiefer when the time comes. She went through a case of hoofrot and a sprained ankle so shes a little wrung out in this picture @ 6 months-but was still pushing hi 5s maybe close to 600: no creep. Her sire is DS homo-so we will need to test her-and shes got some sheath-so does Colt-maybe the only hole I see in him if that. What do you think?

She resembles the white bulls mother at that age. We have two calves out of colt now. The next one was a 70 pound heifer out of a heifer. It is almost solid red with just a little white in her flank. She is pretty cool as well.

I made a mistake. I forgot we had AIed another cow to Colt. So this is actually the first calf born. It was a 70 pound heifer out of a Free Bird cow.
