He stood out when I saw the bulls. Hes thick , well structured and has a great head . I didnt get to fully analyze each one but he definitely caught my eye.

Wisdom and Patience are both virtues.  However, they are attained only by failures, tests and trials.

The reason I asked for opinions is I think the way his rump is structured is different than a lot of bulls.  I see many bulls that have a tail head that points to the sky.  I think the slope from hooks to pins on him is a trait I would like to find.  I wish I knew something about his tenderness.

i've looked and there doesn't seem to be many producer friendly services for tenderness testing with shear force.

There is an ultra sound that Dr. Alan Williams has developed that will measure tenderness as well as all of the other traits.

Sorry we don't have any tenderness data on Muridale Raw Hide 6E.
I think he is one of our better bulls in our offering this year.
The first picture is of him and his dam.
The last picture is of his sire MURIDALE IRON MAN 4X who is sired by a bull from the 1960's , BONNYVIEW HERO 7Z
I used to be a coyote but I am all right noooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!

I like the heart girth of Iron man.  His mother looks good.  Not many people do have tenderness but it is very important to me.  I raise some gourmet grass fed beef so tenderness is probably the most important trait to me so I can't afford to make a mistake in that area.

Do you find theres any significant relationship between actual tenderness and the Igenity testing? Has there been any research on this?

I have used it  in the past, it leaves me scratching my head.  I use linear measuring, Allen Williams ultrasound and I eat one Ribeye from each animal that I sell as meat to determine how tender it is.

Makes sense. Environment is substantially more important.

Were there even any Shorthorns used in the development of the test?
