We’ve been coming and going since the 5th……..
We took “Bash” up to State and was there the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.
Hey if anybody feels like throwing a little extra Karma around give some to Zach. He was a big help to us at the State Fair. SteerPlaneteers are the best!

Karee stood 3rd in her showmanship division and 4th in class at the State Fair.

We moved into our county fair on the evening of the 8th and things just seemed to fly bye
*On Sunday she won Senior Groom and Show “showing as an 11yr old”
*On Monday Ol’Boy tipped the scales at 1290.
*On Tuesday my daughters Outhouse-race-team won their heat and advanced to the semi-finals.
*On Wednesday she helped out some friends and showed three different times in the sheep show.
*On Thursday she took Grand Champion honors along with Senior and Masters Showmanship.
*On Friday Tori showed her feeder calf “Bolt” to a sixth place finish in a class of about sixteen. “Bolt” was the smallest calf in the class so we were very pleased with that result.
Also on Friday Karee showed in the Showman of Showmen contest. She had to compete up two age division with the Seniors but was able to hold her own and fit in nicely with the older showmen.
*Yesterday she sold Boy for $4.00 a pound to the same local business man who has bought the previous 21 champion steers at our fair. This was real neat because it was my Champion Steer he bought 21 years ago when he started the buying streak.

Very good week for us and I will try to get more photos up….

The first photo is of my daughter her cousin and a good friend who won the hog show this year.
Her cousin played a key role in the selection of both animals so it was a very special week for him as well.

The second picture is of Tori and Bolt during class

The third photo is of Karee and Boy in class

Congrats on the win!!!  Glad to see a year of hard work come together for you!  Sounds like your daughter is one heckuva showman as well!!

If you don't mind me asking, where did the champion hog originate?

I’m not sure on the hog. I heard the name mentioned but my mind only retains information like that when its cattle related.

Thanks. It would be nice to see them change that show to a team format next year. It would really increase the number of participants and interaction among the exhibitors.
