I have a heifer that is a purebred Simi. The only problem is that her sire wasn't registered. He is still purebred but no papers so would I have to show in the crossbred or is there something else I can show her in? Please help!!!
I think you can still register her if you know who the sire and/or dam is. Then I think you have to send in a DNA sample of the registered parents. I'm not 100% sure though.
If her dam is registered, you can get half blood simmi papers on her. No DNA needed. You can show at most major shows in the percentage simmental division with half blood papers.
I think that you should contact the powers that be for the show that you are planning to attend then the next call would be to the people at the registration department for the Simmental association to see what your calf could possibly be registered as.
