Hi guys,
I am about to pull my hair out over my crockpot.  I tried overnight oatmeal and I don't know what happend, but it burnt and I CAN NOT get that last of it off the inside of my crock pot.  I have of course soaked and scrubbed with soap and hot water, I have also tried soaking with vinegar.  Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?  It is the ceramic type of crockpot.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  And I have vowed to never again cook with our the crockpot liners!
Thanks
Fluffer

I'd try soaking it in Dawn using hot water for at least 12 hours. For me that usually works.
Never did oatmeal in crockpot. How did it turn out?

I learned a long time ago that a Hotsy Power Washer is the way to do dishes.  If it doesn't come off after that, quite trying and just accept that it will be on there forever.

I have had that happen before with casserole dishes.  I bought a can of oven cleaner, spray some on it and let it sit a couple of hours--usually wipes right off.  You might want to check and make sure it is safe for ceramic.  Hope this helps.

Try filling the crockpot with water and turning it on. Let the water heat in the crock pot for a while. It may cook the remaining amount off the sides.

I had that happen last year when I was cooking some corn in the barn for feed. What I did was just turn it on low and fill it with water for a day (I probably just made some ladies gasp). The combination of heat and water seemed to just kind of boil it off.

we clean our crock pot out about once a week by just filling it to the top and turning it on overnight, in the morning it was clean.

Thank You guys !

The recipe was something like:
2 cups milk
1 cup oats
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup butter (Melted)
1 Cup chopped apples

Cook on low 8 hours.  I just looked it up on line.  I think my crockpot is to big for that recipe or my thermostat went haywire.  I started the crockpot at about 9:30 pm.  At 3 am when I caught my 2 year old on the couch coloring I probalby should have mixed the oatmeal up then, or at least checked it.  I may have prevented myself this mess.  But by 7am it was BLACK

That does sound good.  Do you think it matters if it is regular oatmeal or quick oatmeal?

Here is my special oatmeal recipe.

Put glass of water in Microwave for 1 minute
Open 2 packets of Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal and pour into bowl
Pour hot water into bowl and stir
Eat and enjoy

Milk, Jason, milk, water just doesn't cut it, not enough flavor and texture as the milk gives it.

And by the way, what happened to the baked apple flavor???
