go to the big show page and search leading calves, breaking calves, etc...there's tons of advice and suggestions there...

also, can you be more specific about what he is doing?  does he fight the halter, shake his head, or just plant his front feed and not move?

I have a steer that was so stubborn, it would fall over and faint!  I used to have to cover his nostrils to make him feel like he could not breathe, then he would pop up like nothing.  THEN the balking started. Three men could not move him!  I started out in his pen.  I would put the rope over the stall rail for leverage, then I would keep pressure on his halter and pull forward. When he moved a step, I loosened it. Then I started over until he would take another step. I did this all around the pen several days in a row, then just opened the gate and he continued to walk on out.  I know this sounds weird, but it worked for me! He was 800lbs then, and I weigh 120lbs so I had to use what I could to convince him I was stronger!  Good luck  :)
