Need to pu fat on a larger steer

We need to put fat on a large steer, 1425 lbs and its the end of June. Show isnt until September any thoughts on how we can do this without getting him much over 1500lbs because that is the sell weight limit?

What are you feeding him in terms of protein & fat content? More fat should finish him faster without growing as much. Protein should encourage muscle & bone development & increase frame. Do you have a feed tag on his complete ration, or are you mixing it yourself?
