Took my nephew to his first show yesterday. He didn't do as well as what he wanted to do but I think the heifer looked good. Hopefully he will want to keep showing.

As his mentor you have to make sure he continues, nobody ever won their first marathon race, it takes time and experience!
Nothing wrong with the calf, IMO.

Yes I know it's a long marathon. He just expected to win grand champion his first time out. But he asked today after I posted this when the next show was.

Thanks for the compliment on the heifer. She is one we raised out of bought embryos

Agree, I think with time and more feed, she will get better and better!

Your nephew has a nice heifer, just keep pouring the feed to her and she will get along well. It wont take him long to realize its not all about winning, there are an innumerably amount of life lessons to be learned through showing livestock. But hey, winning sure is fun too! Good luck, hope the next show goes well!
