We are in the process of building our new barn but I just wanted to ask everyone to name a few of their can't live without items because it's still early enough that I could factor them into mine. I love to look at pictures(might be because I can't read very well) thanks to all who take the time to help us out.

Is it a show barn or calving barn or a combo of both? Either way lots of power. We have a small barn and only 2 kids but can run 8 blowers at one time or a couple blowers and lots of fans. The outlets hang from the roof so they are out of the way and we dont need extention cords most of the time. Make sure the electrician knows the proper breaker for a blower. Lots of lights too.

There's a post about barns in the "Hall of Fame"  forum on this site.  There are some good ideas in it.

Plan ahead for drains for indoor wash-rack, water supply to rack and to waterers,  and cool room if you want to have them.  Much easier to accommodate needs for these if you start with them in your plans.
