We are very pleased with the "Fathead" calves.  (pleased may be an understatement)  Low birth weight (low 80s) and they hit the ground running.  The "ruby" heifer was the first Fathead calf.  She was running circles around the cow 30 minutes after she hit the ground.  Seriously... we could see the cow calving out in the pasture and gave her 30 minutes, went out to check and the calf was jumping around the cow.  We were a little hesitant with an unproven bull last year, but he was out and /or AI'd all but the cows that are one & two generations away from the Georgina cow. (his Dam)  We even used him on heifers.

Sommer,
Really nice video.  The cattle look as good as Troy said. They sure are consistent and  I really like the stoutness.  You should have some fun presenting them in Denver. Not sure at this time if I will be able to make the pen show.  I do know I will be using Flat Head on some of our cows this spring.    I am exited about the flush we purchase from you.  Can't wait until we see some Waco calves.  Hope they turn out as good as your Flat head calves.

Thanks Tom, I will get their EPD's up tommorow.  Hopefully you can come out to Denver.  If not, will keep you posted on the progress.  The ASA should be getting close to producing the Denver sale catalog, as we're selling a choice of the heifers in the video at the sale.  Once the catalog is printed, will put that info up as well.

Those are by far  the stoutest calves Ive seen from you,and certainly the stoutest Ive seen that go to Castlerock JMO. A long time ago you had a gizmo hiefer that I really liked and you were ho hum about. Youd better be carefull how you breed them cattle-they are starting to look like my kind:thick butts-guts,rib,maybe even (Klubby) (and something like the Gizmos) Howd you fair on the first calvers? Wow! I'm a sucker for a good looking horn. Might have to talk my husband into some Fathead semen.

Fathead semen is available exclusively through M Bar Shorthorns.  Visit our web site for details.  If you would like to save on shipping, come down to the yards in Denver.
