newborn calf question

Good afternoon to everyone,
I was wondering what everyones thought on this question would be? What or how much does a newborn calf usually gain as far as weight wise in the first 24 hours? If a cow milks heavy and just a moderate milker?

Good question!  I have wondered the opposite -  just how much do they loose in the first 24 hours.  Human babies always loose weight initially and I have expected that calves do the same,  but don't have any data to back up my belief.
