NOPE he is out of a Wild Side son called Dr. Feelgood. Dr. Feelgood is a Wild Side out of a Vortec. His dam is still here at our place due to have our first Proud Joe calf. Joe is a Jazz son out of a D. Vision dam.
Thanks Jody for have an independent mind and faith in our cattle.

Not a problem Jeff.. just here to help the little guy, like me, you, and brock.. just see em the way I see em, breed em the way I like em.. and talk about em a little... I like this calf, as well as another black bull calf quite a lot- have some really nice calves from Dr. Feelgood!.
Jeff, what do you believe should be bred to the Dr. Feelgood daughters first time around? I'm thinking a Dr. Feelgood son, perhaps? Got any suggestions?
Here is another pic of Dr. Feelgood, that I think portrays him slightly better. I still need to get some WS semen.. Wonder how that would work back on Grandaughters?

bash him... I'd like this to be a knock down, drag 'em out, kick'n and screaming brawl. I think I'm pasture blind, and can't see through his roan coloring... Bring me back to reality with this calf.
Olson Family Shorthorns said:Toes out, not masuline enough for me. If I were you, I wouldn't stack so much Vortec on top of itself (Feelgood daughters back to a son of him. I like Vortec a lot, but in small doses. Our herd bull is out of a Vortec son, but only one of our cows goes back to Vortec (well, she's an AoD heifer right now).
If you wanted a totally clean, outcross bull, we just sold one. Red Diamond x B Good Marco (Royal Marc on a Huberdale cow). He is one stout sucker too. His full sib was born yesterday, so we'll see how that goes.
Keep at it with Jeff's genetics, they've done very well for us.
rarebirdz said:why would you start a topic with "next new shorthorn TH and PHA free" when he isn't a purebred he is a shorty plus. way to waste time when there are plenty of good double clean papered shortys that have breeders that care if they go on.
Olson Family Shorthorns said:I wish you had a few more too. As I recall, I nearly bought a Dr. Feelgood heifer from Jeff a couple years ago, but a good family from down south beat me to the punch.

feeder duck said:I see a fall born calf that with time on feed will bloom. With the Vortec in his pedigree he will be later to mature. He will have enough grow. Will he have a whale ass and monster bone. NO. Will he be thick enough and sound ...yes. Is he good enough to sell as a show steer down south...yes. Priced right and sent to a home that will just feed him and not over think it he will be fine.
I like to see the "calling out" of the opinions.
Thank you Justin for the kind words.
Jodi do not give in....you may be one of the more think outside the box guys I have ever met, besides Joel Brooks. By the way it will pay off!!!
Breed your way in don't buy it!!!!!
