we haven't had any power since SUnday afternoon. I am in Ohio Columbus and am using a wireless verizon card and powering up the laptop to stay in touch. They say we won't get any power back an til Friday.THe winds that came through were 70 plus as a result of the hurricane.

Im so sorry u are out of electricity but glad to know everyone is ok, I sure do know how you feel we were without for 10 days during an Iowa icestorm,
we live in the country so we didnt even have water, we watered the calves with melted snow and drips off the barn, it was horrible,
but we made it through it, and so will you, remember God only dishes out what he knows you can handle.
good luck and keep the faith.

Our power was out until yesterday afternoon, my parents are still out and it will probably be Saturday.  We have a generator so that at least allowed us to water the cattle and keep the frig and freezer on.  My parents are living in their RV.  I can't complain, we don't have a foot of water in our basement or a tree on our house or car.  I feel for those of you who have lost buildings, fences, etc.

I feel for you all.  I was like justamom being without any electricity for over a week in the icestorm.  We were lucky two have a generator to pump water though.  I just thank heavens its not winter for you all.  I know its H*** but trust me you'll make it.  (There were times I wasn't sure I was gonna make it lol)  Good luck and stay strong!

Things are moving along quickly here, the linemen are doing a great job getting people electricity.  The big difference between Rita and Ike were the weather conditions after the storm.  Rita left us with 100 degree heat and humidity, Ike aftermath we were in the mid 50's to 70 and helped everyone cope better.

You definitely have my sympathy.  Two years ago we were out two weeks due to a ice storm. We were spending about $500 a day for fuel for the generators to keep the poultry houses going.  One of my good friends who only lives a mile from me was out 29 days.

We are in southern Indiana and was out from Sunday to late Tuesday evening.  My husband works for the utility company so needless to say he was on the road working and my 10 year old daughter and I had to clear fences.  Of course the only trees that fell were cherry trees.  I had never used a chainsaw before and for 3 days solid we have been clearing trees.  We have a pile that is as big as 3 buses put together.  None of it will burn because it is green so we had to hot tape it, with a solar charger that we had to go buy to keep the cows out of it.  I am a diabetic and at this point I am exhausted.  At one point I had a tree kick when I was sawing it and ripped my insulin pump out so I had to go back to the house and repair it.  I just got internet back about an hour ago and thought I would check and see how everyone else fared the storm.  Going to take a nap now!  We are whipped
