Here is our Fullblood Maine bull calf he is sired by a Maine Invader.  Dam KBC 18N (WILDBERRY'S THUNDER 317K). Not bad for a 30 year old vial of semen and yes I said vial not the straws.   Here are the pedigree on both bulls. He would be a half brother to CALBERTA MARQUIS 12J.  I have attached pictures of the Bull from the 70's and the cow today. He was about 110lbs when born and was unassisted. We haven't had a Fullblood calf for a few years and is surprise me how thick they are. He is one big chunk.

great calf out of a really good soggy cow.  maine invader sired some of the best maine cattle ever, but he is out of epinal.  epinal and cunia are in the majority of maine pedigrees numerous times.  as good as he is, he is not different enough for me.

hopefully his momma's nice low hocks and bigger hearth girth will level him out and blow him up compared to his dad who is not level enough or has enough heart girth.

very nice calf.

This is pretty cool and really appreciate the diversity of how breeders of Fullbloods think. I also feel it's  important to explore some of those genetics that were not uses to the extent of some others simply for their outcross potential. You will find a bunch of great Black Maine's that have Maine Invader in their pedigree which is a testimony of how good they are. The style of that calf is part of what made them so popular.

We have run into a bit of a snag with this Calf his dam and grand dam are not registered so we likely can not register him as a fullblood but we know that he is from Fullbood lines.  I guess we should have kept up with registering cattle even though we were not really in the Purebred business any more.

We like our true halfblood Maine Angus cows they make great cows. We bought some purebred Angus heifers and bred them to Invader and had some great cows they produced for a lot of years.  If this calf turns out I wish had a herd of Angus cows to turn this guy out on I think they would make some great cows commercial cows.

Nice calf. Keep us updated with pics. Maine Invader was before my time...lol, but this calf has some real muscle. I think Maine Invader would probably have more guts (maybe not enough) if living today than he did in his time, we fed differently. When is the last time anyone bought a true "grower" ration for a show calf? Maine Invader looks like he had a big hip. Not picking at anyone, but why do genetics have to be different to be interesting? I am not in the purebred industy, so "different" has little appeal to me. Quality does have appeal, however...As far as registration, I for one am about tired of fooling with it and thinking of just using that money to test for TH and PHA...A panhandle cowboy told me years ago that he had never seen a cow that could read anyways... (lol)

see if the amaa will register the calf, mother, and grandmother.  they don't need verification.  the calves can be registered in US.
