Last night the Northern Ligts were amazing. My camera doesn't take good night photos or possibly it's the operator! (lol)  However after Lucy got her camera charged here are a couple of pics that she took, after the brightest part was over though! It's been a pretty incredible warm winter here, beats last year.

So I take it you don't get Northern Lights in Colorado! How far south do they actually show up?

They were seen in Tennessee one night this year.  I can't remember the exact date, but they were only visible for a short time and I missed it :'(.

I agree :( He's just rubbing it in our faces now!

Did you see any when you were there? I wonder with Calgary being so big now they may not be as bright as when I was there. I can see the glow of the city in the photos.

No I'm yet to see them. But yeah, Calgary gets an awesome glow over it at night from all the lights. Not the same as northern lights though!

No I have never seen them here.
They are saying with the solar storm hitting the earth right now that the Northern Lights will be visible in Colorado this week. Not sure how far North the  aurora australis (or the southern lights will be visible, maybe you will see them TDU!
Lucy got called to come photograph these at midnight the other night. It's amazing they were this clear as it was very bright with the moonlight on the fresh snow!

They have been amazing some nights. And they move around so much I sometimes swear you could choreograph them to music. Another reason to live in the Great White North ( mind you it could be called the Great Brown North where I live this winter.)  The hardest thing about calving in this weather is making the ear tags!  I left this morning to weigh bulls and was home by mid afternoon and I had 6 new babies. All running around, all had nursed. Now to catch them and tag them before it gets dark. An old guy like me will never catch them if I give them another 24 hours!

TDU... what do you get down there.... Southern Lights?

We get nothing excpet open skies and stars.... an awesome moon last night.

Right now though, all we're getting is water, and lots of it.... we're about to have our bridge closed again due to the floods.
