Today is the large outdoor Display of Bulls at the 2019 NWSS.

How about everyone that was there (or received reports from fellow cattlemen), please give the rest of us that were unable to attend, your thoughts on the bulls that were displayed?  What was shown on display this year?  Thanks!

Evidently, no one cares to comment on the NWSS that went this year.  So sad...I guess I may need to find a new site...

Everyone that I personally know that went to Denver last weekend is still there.

The only bulls that I heard much about were the High Maine baldy that Duello sold, and Wade Rodgers' bull called Wynne In Doubt.  Both bulls were said to be really good.

I didn't even see much coverage within other groups no matter where.  Shoot, even Lautner didn't post much on his own blog.

From the few pictured I saw, it didn't seem as if there were nearly as many people there as I recall in past years.  Some years you couldn't even walk down that aisle.  Maybe weather wasn't very good, I really don't know.

I wasn't able to go, honestly I didn't want to, but here's the report I got from a few diffent people.  Fur trader was a stud  big stout up off the ground breeding bull that maybe was a touch straight upfront. The best quote I got on him was "a true breeding bull with a great look". Good As It Gets was very impressive from a "look" standpoint. Great rib muscle and profile but still plenty small. Blue Goose was Matts best bull. The Dr's bulls was exteamly impressive and most defiantly got the best report back to me. I'd say in my deal I'll use a little of FT and Duellos bull. But it won't be much as I have a hard time useing any yearling. Again that's what I was told by people I trust. Crowd was down a bit and weather was a little tough on Friday.

Friend of mine,  who's not a red Angus breeder, said this guy was very impressive

I see that Soo line Canadian blood in him-they have really beasty looking cattle of several breeds-Angus Reds, and Simms must be something  to see looking at their cows O0

They are, just got a few daughters of the soo line in this past week!  <rock>

Now for thread relevant info, I was told the champ red angus bull MIMI was an incredibly broken shouldered. But somehow they got him fixed up. PTO is a beast just pretty moderate I'm told.

What display bulls of other breeds than clubby are there.

Maybe they are just next to some other cattle or maybe they aren’t there any more because it’s too expensive and too much of a hassle and not the best venue for that.

I was there and agree with most of the comments that have already been posted. The Duello bull that Lautner and Corky Wise bought was a very interesting animal. Impeccably sound with an outcross pedigree! Wynn in Doubt was a beast. May not work on all females but sure appears to be able to add stoutness and dimension. Hung around and watched them take him back to the pen on Saturday and after being tied all day he moved like a cat! I agree that Blue Goose was my pick of Matt's bulls also, just appeared to be the most functional. Another bull that was interesting was Nolen Ferguson's "Big Shooter". He was a Fu Man Chu x Maine (Ali/Cowboy Cut/Draft Pick). Great look, big square hip and sound. Some of the purebreds were also impressive. Both Griswold bulls I thought were very good! The County O, Simmy and the Angus, GCC Money Earned. As in past years there were many good bulls that had merit and breeding potential of some kind. There were also a few that should have been cut! Just my opinion.

Most of you have a lot better eye than I do, but here was my thoughts:  I also though PTO was excellent.  I'm not at all a red angus guy, but this was a quality bull.  Griswold's looked really good.  I thought Duello's Maine was real good, maybe not as freaky as his picture, but a good bull nonetheless.  I thought Blue Goose wasMatt's best, 3 of a Kind was decent, but way different than 1OAK.  As Good As It Gets was good, but smaller framed.  Minnaert's had an Angus that was really different for an Angus.  The Ferguson B/W Fu Man Chu was interesting.  I thought Fur Trader was more hair than bull, but could have some usage.  As a whole, I felt like the bulls on display this year were kind of underwhelming compared to years past.  Boyert/Core had a real interesting Charolais displayed as well.

A friend of mine that went said that he liked Big Shooter, 3OAK, and Good As It Gets. I am not sure on his reasonings for liking these, that's just what he told me.
