I don't know if the res. deserved to win or not, won't debate that, but I can tell you that Core's do as good a job as anybody in this business and they have earned the right and respect to be there.  Congratulations to Sydney and Bailey, couldn't pick 2 nicer winners in my book!

I read the article about Schnoor and Core. It said that Schnoor RAISED her steer... if I recall it sure seems like their names come up alot in sale reports. I do not know the family and so I honestly do not know if they raise their own or buy it. I do know that Cores raise cattle, but do not know if they raised or bought the market heifer. I am also confused on the comment that Bailey called someone (forget the name) and said their former steer had won the historic compitition. Can anyone explain that? The article was not a well written one
But, I congratulate ALL the exhibitors. It is an accomplishment just to show Denver.

In her interview, she said it has been fun raising him. I think maybe to a 12 or 13-year-old watching them grow is raising them. They do have some cattle and raise some, but she could simply mean the day in and day out growth and change of him. Where is the written article? I couldn't find it, but I will say I think Syd did a better job than I could with her interview:)

I tried to find it but my pitiful Dial-up took too long. If you have some time and high speed the magazine The showtimes from here in Colorado did a article on the Schnoors last release, I think. The web site is www.theshowtimesmagazine.com.

I was surprised when he picked that market heifer, too. But when they pulled her up beside the steer, I admit that they made a very nice pair in terms of kind. The Schnoor steer brought $61,000 on Friday evening, after spending the day in the lobby of the Brown Palace Hotel. The Denver Post has video and interviews with both Schnoor and Core at:

that's hilarious.  She wasn't even a market heifer.  That would have been fine if there weren't any good steers there but there were at least 10 better than her.  Hell, most thought the res. heifer was better than the champ and there were only 5 in the show.  A PR stunt is what that was.

Thank you "gocane" for having the balls to say what 99% of the audience thought.  Nothing against the reserve family, they are great people, but you gotta call them like they are, the heifer was a breeding heifer, not market ready, and should have never gotten out of class

Just my opinion, but I think that heifer deserves more credit. The Grand Champion is facing the camera on the left, the Reserve Grand Champion on the right.
